Hardik Pandya shares a heartfelt message for his fans after being traded back to his home Mumbai Indians from where all it had started.
The fact that all-around player Hardik Pandya is returning to the Mumbai Indians, the team where his cricket career started, hasn’t quite registered with him, and he’s excited to create new memories with the five-time IPL champions.
Pandya thanked the squad in a video message released by MI for recognizing him in 2013 and going on to become one of the best all-around players in white-ball cricket.
“I’m back! Rohit (Sharma), (Jasprit) Bumrah, Surya (Suryakumar Yadav), Ishan (Kishan), Polly (Keiron Pollard), (Lasith) Malinga, chala suru karuya (Come on, let’s begin),” a spirited Pandya said in a video message.
He also added a few words,” Of course, there are many reasons why returning to Mumbai is such a unique experience. How MI saw me in 2013 and helped me begin my cricket journey in 2015. Looking back, I find that the entire ten-year period has been something really unique.”
Later on, he talked about his bond with the MI family and their owners and how special this moment was for him to come back to the family from where it had started. He is clearly happy after being traded to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans.
Pandya further stated,” It still hasn’t dawned on me that I’m back where my cricketing odyssey began—that is, with MI. I’ve accomplished everything that is conceivable. With their unique relationships with Akash and the entire family, they have played the most significant role in my life. They have supported me through thick and thin, and now that I’m returning to my family and my home, where it all began, it feels much more emotional.”
Pandya was moved by Gujarat Titans to MI for a total of Rs 15 crore in all cash.
In his final words, Pandya pleaded with the supporters to stick with him, just as they had throughout his wildly successful first season with the record champions.
“Paltan, you helped me out when I needed it most, and I will always cherish all the experiences. We made history together, so I know you’ll support me once more. Now, I’m looking forward to spending some amazing times with the fellas once more. “Thank you, Mere Hardik Swagat ke liye,” he remarked.
